What is a teepee?
Teepees are tents that were created by the American Indians, usually made from either animal skins, cloth or canvas (like ours) laid on a conical frame of long poles with an opening at the top for ventilation and a door flap. We have our teepees on top of foam matting that sits on a sand base for a bit of extra comfort.
Teepee Village at Thornbridge Outdoors
Our Teepee Village provides a camping experience with a difference, consisting of 9 teepee tents each sleeping roughly 5 children or 3 adults. Each one is named after a tree that you would find on our site. You will need to bring your own sleeping mat, pillow and sleeping bag. You can bring additional tents if there are more of you. Our teepees go up around Easter and are taken down around early October.
When planning your visit you may find the following useful. All visiting groups are asked to complete a teepee list for their visit and leave it at reception on arrival.
