Facility Improvements
We are always striving to improve and have been busy working on the facilities we offer to make staying here more comfortable and enjoyable.
Whilst it’s great to have a number of large buildings and an extensive site it certainly takes some maintaining and can be complicated to improve – especially within the confines of a conservation area in a national park with listed buildings onsite!
As the Lodge had an extensive refurbishment a couple of years ago we have targeted our accommodation improvements on the Farm House, our grade 2 listed accommodation building. Developments include:
- Secondary glazing being fitted to the majority of windows – improving the energy efficiency of the building and helping to keep it warmer during the colder months.
- New curtains and carpet in the majority of rooms – updating and replacing that was needed.
- Replacing all bunk beds with new bigger ones – more suitable for visiting adults as well as children.
- Improved TV reception – now all free to view channels are available.
Improvements to other areas include:
- Resurfacing the back driveway and the path from reception to the accommodation buildings – no more pot holes and an easier journey with wheelie suitcases for those who arrive by coach at the bottom of the drive.
- Installing a retractable partition wall in the Wyedale room – more flexibility for groups.
- Secondary glazing in the Wyedale room – improving energy efficiency and sound insulation.
- Creating a new bike store – Easier for groups to get bikes in and out.
- Revamped problem solving store – easier access for visiting groups.
