New camping opportunities
One of the exciting changes we have been working on is our extended range of camping options. We can now cater for a wider variety of groups, large and small. This includes being able to take more Duke of Edinburgh Award group bookings and Bell Tent bookings at the same time. We can now offer a camping pitch and basic facilities to groups without the need to book the Bell Tents and Base Camp, therefore, a more affordable option.
New Camping Facilities
Thanks to Department for Environment & Rural Affairs Farming in Protected Landscapes and Sheffield City Council funding we have invested in new facilities to enable more groups to camp in more areas of our beautiful site: 4 toilet cubicles, 4 shower cubicles & Pot washing sink.

New Bell Tents
Over the last couple of years we have been busy upgrading our 9 Teepees for larger Bell Tents and have now renamed our ‘Teepee Village’ ‘Bell Tent Village’. The Bell Tents can accommodate roughly 6 children or 5 adults in each one and are great for schools and large organised groups. The Bell Tent Village comes with use of our Base Camp building with a fully equipped kitchen, dining room, toilets and showers.

Meadow Camping
New for 2025 is our Meadow Camping!
Utilising the new toilet and shower facilities we can accommodate up to 80 campers at any one time. Small groups may share a field whereas larger groups may be able to book sole use of their own area.

Duke of Edinburgh Award
As we now have more capacity for camping groups, we can accommodate a number of Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) groups at the same time. We can provide the basic facilities of a camping pitch, toilets, showers and pot washing sink.
We offer courses for Duke of Edinburgh leaders, such as the Mountain Training Lowland Leader Award or Hill and Moorland Leader Award. We also run 16 hour Outdoor First Aid courses.
Family Camping
Until recently camping here at Thornbridge Outdoors has only been available for large groups booking together. New facilities and a new approach for 2025 means that we are looking forward to our first ‘Family Camping’ opportunities. If you are looking to camp in a beautiful area, enjoy the peace and quiet (no music and a site quiet time from 11pm – 8am) and make the most of the Peak District countryside then please contact us to register your interest. The first family camping weekend will be: 15-17 August 2025, with more dates to be released soon.
