Salary: £30,825 – £34,834 pro rata

Thornbridge Outdoors is Sheffield City Council’s outdoor learning centre located near Bakewell in the Peak District. Our mission is ‘to widen the horizons of young people through real outdoor adventures in the Peak District’ and we work with a range of clients from Sheffield and beyond.
The temporary post is to cover a maternity leave and whilst it will be for at least 6 months from September it may be for as many as 14 months.
The post is part time at three 9am to 5pm days per week and must include Wednesdays.
Your main role will be to run high quality outdoor education sessions for a range of different groups at our centre, in various venues across the Peak District and on occasion at schools. Activities that the centre delivers include caving/mine exploration, rock climbing, mountain biking, canoeing, high ropes courses, problem solving, abseiling, hillwalking and bushcraft.
Applicants should have:
- Significant experience of planning and delivering outdoor education to young people.
- A passion for outdoor learning.
- An eagerness to lead all of the activities that are available at the centre.
- A good range of outdoor qualifications and drive to continue to improve your own experience and delivery.
- A clear understanding of the role that outdoor learning has in the development of young people and the ability to articulate this to schools and other user groups.
