The Changed Team

Over the last 9 months there have been lots of changes within the Thornbridge Outdoors team – with a few more happening over the next month:

Goodbye and best wishes to

Customer Services and Business Support team

Hayley – who many of you will have spoken to as receptionist and was the whizz behind our social media – has left to embrace working from home.

Education team

Martin is leaving his outdoor education post shortly to start a part time law degree. Many of our customers will still work with Martin as he is continuing in his Educational Visits Advisor role for Sheffield City Council alongside his studies.

Several of our casual instructors have decided not to return to instructing to focus on other things – including having more time for their own adventures in the outdoors.  These instructors include Jill W – who many of you will remember from her 10+ years full time at the centre.

Although she’s not leaving Mandy gave birth in mid-June – congratulations Mandy! – and is therefore on maternity leave until 2022.

Facilities team

Bruce – our Premises and Buildings Officer – left in January to move to a similar role in a school in Edinburgh.

Helen and Jenny have left our team of Domestic Assistants to start jobs closer to home.

Welcome to

Customer Services and Business Support team

Sally will be joining the team in September and her main role will be Guest Co-ordinator so many customers will be in touch with her soon.

Education team

Robin joined us in late July, from another Peak District centre, as an Outdoor Education Tutor and has already had a busy summer with our groups.

Caitlin started last week as an Outdoor Education Tutor, having come to us from an outdoor learning role in schools, and has had a busy week being inducted ready for the arrival of schools this week.

Facilities Team

Danny started at the beginning of August as Premises and Buildings Supervisor.  After 7 months with nobody in the role there was lots to do and Danny has already made good progress in the month he’s been with us.

By the end of September the Thornbridge Outdoors team will be

Customer Services and Business Support team

Jill – Organisational Support Officer
Tim – Organisational Support Officer
Sally – Business Support Officer (Guest Co-ordinator)

Education team

Caitlin – Outdoor Education Tutor
Cath – Outdoor Education Tutor
Robin – Outdoor Education Tutor

Facilities Team

Danny – Premises and Buildings Support Officer
Michelle – Domestic Team Supervisor
Alex – Domestic Assistant
Angela – Domestic Assistant

As I firmly believe that our team is, and will continue to be, our greatest asset at Thornbridge Outdoors you’ll be hearing more about them over the next few months.

Ed (Head of Thornbridge Outdoors)
